Our company began operations as European Fine Foods Co. in 1986 in response to the need for Polish flavours in Toronto during one of the biggest immigration waves from Poland in Canadian history.

The company was a result of the entrepreneurial spirit and a longing, our founder, Jozef Szczepanik* had for familiar tastes of his mother’s kitchen. “Jak Babci” (Like Grandma’s) was the way he described to his children, the products he approved for his new line.
The result is a varied selection of products for the everyday kitchen which meets the needs of the Canadian ethnic and specialty market. Our products are moderately priced but rich in flavour. Today, over twenty years later, they are enjoyed by a loyal clientele and are discovered by new clients daily.  

Developing his own line of products was not enough for Joe – the Poland he knew was rich in flavours. Therefore a large part of the business involved imports from Poland. Joe was particularly good at spreading his excitement over new products to his customers and educating about new flavours.

Although Joe is no longer at the helm of European Fine Foods Co. Inc., the same commitment to taste is what drives us to provide our clients with quality products which we serve to our own guests.

Today European Fine Foods Co. Inc. represents several key Polish producers and carries a wide variety of foods from Poland and other European countries.

The company remains family owned with a friendly staff ready to accommodate the needs of any client. 

Our criteria is that the products we import have to be fit for our family table.
